Description

Establishes a range of screw and washer assemblies mainly intended for use in high volume production processes, or where it is advantageous to have a washer which will not separate from the fastener prior to final assembly. In separate sections it covers screws manufactured to AS 1110 and AS 1427, and metric series tapping and drive screws, modified for assembly with washers to AS 1968, 1969 and 1970, and provides a series of flat metal washers suitable for use as the washer component of a screw and washer assembly. The specification does not duplicate information given in the product Standards for the metric screws and washers, but provides for the necessary dimensional and mechanical property modifications required in the preparation of screw and captive washer assemblies.
