Description

Provides requirements and type tests for steel cylinders of 5 kg to 160 kg water capacity for the storage and transport of dissolved acetylene. The cylinder shell requirements are provided by reference to suitable gas cylinder Standards. The tests include ullage at elevated temperature, performance under backfire, and performance under simulated external fire conditions. The latter test gives alternatives of the traditional bonfire test or an oven test, but the oven test is subject to development. Incorporates as annexes AS B189-1962 and Interpretation No 6 (April 1973) to AS CB4.
